Azmi Shahrin was born in Ipoh and received his early education at St. Michael’s Institution, Ipoh and Malay College Kuala Kangsar. He won a Shell Scholarship to further his studies at the University of Kent, United Kingdom where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics. He subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Malaya (2009) and he is currently a PhD candidate at the same university. He has been a member of MENSA since 1989. He has had more than a decade’s working experience in managing marketing communications, distribution channels and product branding with several companies including Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. and Maxis Communications Bhd. However, destiny was calling and in 200, he quit his well paid job to become a trainer.

Azmi owes the turning point of his life to Toastmasters. In 1998, he joined Extol Toastmasters Club to sharpen his presentation and communication skills. He was President of the club in 2005-2006. He was also instrumental in the founding of Kelab Pidato Perdana (a Malay language Public Speaking club) where he served as President in 2004-2005 and is currently the Chief Trainer. In 2007-2008, He was Governor of Division W (of District 51 of Toastmasters International) and had the responsibility to oversee 32 clubs. He has also won many prizes in speech contests over the years and awards for excellent leadership and dedicated service, such as the Division C Toastmaster of the Year 2004-2005 award. He is also a trainer with the Toastmasters Leadership Institute. In 2006, he achieved Toastmasters’ highest award, which carries the title of “Distinguished Toastmaster” (DTM). All these enabled him to launch and excel at his new career as a public speaker and Presentation Skills trainer.

In the past 10 years as full-time trainer, Azmi has conducted training for the private/corporate sector, the government sector, educational establishments as well as members of the public. He has trained over 11,000 adults and students. While he specializes in public speaking and presentation skills, he is also competent in related areas such as communication skills, interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, English language skills and leadership skills. Ahmad Mustaffa holds an LL.B from the University of Bristol, an MBA from the University of Exeter and the Certificate in Training Practice from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). He is currently an advocate and solicitor who is an active industrial relations practitioner. He regularly appears in the Industrial Court representing both employers and employees and is very familiar with the law on domestic inquiry. He also has had previous experience working in the corporate sector and has served in a number of various strategic roles including training and development. 

Today he combines his experience and knowledge in law with professional training skills to deliver high quality legal training to the corporate sector. His deeper appreciation of HR issues comes from being both a legal practitioner on employment issues and having worked as a manager in the corporate sector. He brings a well-balanced insight on conducting domestic inquiries covering legal aspects within a strategic framework that places value on human capital. In the 8 years as an employment law trainer, he has trained executives and managers from over 100 organisations to develop their competencies in Employment Law and Industrial Relations. Besides conducting training for the public, he has trained for organisations including Felda, Pos Malaysia, Bank Muamalat, Media Prima and Shapadu Group of Companies. He is currently the principal trainer of Triple A Training.

Puan Mazibah Mohd Zain

Mazibah is a certified Master Trainer and Associate Consultant with extensive experience in corporate and public training.   She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Management and Organizational Behavior from Oregon State University, USA and Master of Business Administration degree with Advanced Certificate in Personnel Administration and Decision Support System from New Hampshire College, Manchester, USA.

She has worked for Cooperative College of Malaysia (CCM) as a lecturer and was responsible for setting up the CCM's Computer Center.  She was involved in designing and conducting courses in the area of computer application packages, cooperative computerization system, leadership, supervisory skill and cooperative law. She left the public sector and joined the manufacturing sector and was attached to the HR Department of Canon Camera and Mattel. She has extensive experience in Employee Relations, Employee Welfare, Recruitment, and Training and Development. While heading the Training and Recruitment Department at Mattel, she conducted training programmes for the supervisory and middle management level in the areas of Human Resources Development, Supervisory and Managerial Development, Domestic Inquiry and Grievances Handling, and Quality Improvement Process Training.

Ismail Hashim has 29 years of working experience, having held several executive, management and senior management positions, including about 14 years in education and training. He started his career with the Technical Education Division, Ministry of Education, Malaysia. He then joined a privately-run educational institution in Kuala Lumpur as a Principal. He was later appointed to be the Group Head of Human Resources and was directly responsible for training and development. Before becoming a full-time training consultant, Ismail served as the Central Human Resources Training Coordinator for Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Bhd.

As a trainer and consultant, Ismail has guided many of his course participants to tap their true potentials through his deliveries and workshops. He believes in sharing his personal aspirations and giving his best to help people fulfill their individual goals in their careers and personal lives. His warm personality and friendly, down-to-earth, common-sense approach has made his sessions well received by all participants.

Encik Mohd Paris Gopalakrishnan

Paris was trained in USA and Singapore in Six-Sigma Methodology and Tools (Black Belt) and upon his return to Malaysia, he was sent to China to train the Engineers of Nidec Corporatio n located in Dalian (a manufacturer of spindle, mini fan and other types of motors) on Six Sigma Methodology and Tools. He then joined Thong Fook Plastics as a QA Executive, and later promoted to Technical Executive in-charge of Plastics Injection Moulding Division. He earned a Certificate in Plastics Materials and Injection Moulding Process issued by CIAST and was trained in Plastics Injection Moulding at Minolta Precision. Next he worked as a Production Manager for Nidec-Copal, a Japanese MNC that produces stepper motors, trimmer potentiometer, clik motor, PCB assembly, fan motors, injection moulding and metal stamping. He led this company to achieve ISO9000 as a Management Representative. Here, he was trained as a Lead Assessor by QMS and Internal Quality Audit by SIRIM. He was a Production Manager for eight years before joining General Electric as their Materials & Customer Service Manager.

Through his five-year service as the Materials & Customer Service Manager, he was responsible for improving productivity valued at more than US$1,800,000.00 through Six-Sigma activities. He was certified Green Belt in 2001 and has been a trained Black Belt since 1999. He has also received the Phillippe Award 2000 for Distinguished Community Leadership. In 2001, he completed the Advance Manager’s Course that was conducted by GE. He has trained and coached engineers and managers at several pulp and paper mills in Surabaya and Jakarta on 6-Sigma Green Belt between May to August 2008.

He has conducted 6-Sigma programs for Proton and Tesco in Malaysia. He is able to identify improvement opportunities in any manufacturing operations and possesses problem-solving skills. Syaiful is an expert in HR management and the interpretation of Malaysian Laws related to HR as a result of his experience as a lawyer, and Industrial Relations and Training manager of Kulim Bhd. Selaine is a licensed Company Secretary, Trainer certified by Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB), graduate of Sheffield Hallam University in Master of Education (English Studies) and Bachelor of Education (TESOL). She is a member of Toastmasters International, and is serving as Area Governor and Vice President Public Relations of Malaysian Institute of Management Toastmasters Club for the year 2012/ 2013. In 2005, she was voted by Mingguan Wanita as a “Wanita Cemerlang.”

She has conducted English Language workshops for many corporate and government bodies such as KL Star Rail Sdn. Bhd., Department of Statistics Malaysia and Jabatan Kemajuan Masyarakat. In her 6-year training experience, she has taught Public Speaking, English Language and Chinese to over 6,000 Primary and Secondary School and University students. He also had developed model and instrument to measure Customer Satisfactions Index (CSI) and Customer Loyalty Index (CLI) as stipulated in the ISO Standard requirements. These models can be applied in any firms easily to enhance the satisfaction of their customers thus improving the customer loyalty. Apart from Consultancy services, Arivalan also has conducted personal coaching on individual basis on various marketing and business related matters for CEOs, branch managers and executives.

Driven by his Mission in life, Dr. Arivalan embarked on a profession as a marketer, lecturer, trainer and consultant. He worked as a Senior Programme Manager at Hewlett Packard in KL. He was managing about 80 project managers on their task of delivering excellent customer services. At Hewlett Packard, he also has established a quality system to assist the project managers to keep record on their daily routine services to the customer.
